Abstract
The aim of this study was to construct and propose the School Friendly–Cooperative Communication Scale for the purpose of measuring the socio-communicative aspect of school culture in research contexts. Following the pilot study, the research objectives were to conduct the main study in order to further validate the construct validity of the scale; to examine model fit indices using confirmatory factor analysis to verify the adequacy and stability of the instrument’s structure; to assess the reliability of the scale by calculating Cronbach’s alpha and McDonald’s omega coefficients in order to determine its stability and internal consistency; and to establish the criterion validity of the newly developed scale through correlational comparisons with two scales measuring related constructs. Given its satisfactory psychometric properties, the proposed scale may be used and further validated in future research with different samples of students.
