Abstract

Milan Kranjčević’s writings are a precious source when it comes to researching traditional ways of life in the Otočac area. Kranjčević’s writing is characterised by exhaustive descriptions and an acquaintance with almost every detail encompassing life in the Gacka River Valley. He wrote about traditional house construction, and proverbial sayings about seasonal customs, agriculture and cooking.
