Financial literacy in the context of the education system in the part related to adult education

Abstract
The Ministry of Science, Education and Youth, along with
educational institutions, is responsible for the development of educational
policy systems and programs. The Republic of Croatia adopted
the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia until
2030 in order to positively influence the financial literacy of citizens
of the Republic of Croatia due to the devastating results conducted
by the OECD in 2023. Therefore, the aim of this research is to analyse
and determine the representation of financial literacy content in the
Register of the Croatian Qualifications Framework and to propose an
educational program as a response to the possible improvement of
citizens’ financial literacy. A comparative analysis was used to compare
two adult education programs, the results of which are presented
in this research. The projections of the conducted analysis show that
the newly proposed adult education program has all the prerequisites
for improving citizens’ financial literacy.
