Abstract

This article examines the partnership contract concluded on 4 February 1449, between two Tuscan newcomers in Šibenik, Francis Aldobrandi from Florence and Leonard, son of Victor, from Siena, for the purpose of running a pharmacy. In addition to the contract itself, as well as the agreement on its termination and execution – which can serve as an example for how pharmacies were founded and managed in late medieval communes in the Eastern Adriatic – the paper also offers brief biographies of the two Tuscans who made Šibenik their new home.
