Abstract

The aim of the paper is to assess the technical and energy potential of offshore wind farms in the Adriatic Sea and to conduct a techno-economic analysis of their feasibility. The paper is based on the hypothesis that the Adriatic Sea possesses significant, but spatially and technically constrained, potential for offshore wind development, the realization of which depends on technological progress, the regulatory framework, and integration into the national power system. The structure of the paper includes an overview of the theoretical and technical foundations of offshore technology, an analysis of the natural and spatial characteristics of the Adriatic, a methodology for assessing energy potential, the development of a techno-economic model, and the interpretation of results, along with consideration of limitations and recommendations for further research.
