Urban Planning and Development of Zagreb 1945-1952

Abstract

Based on city administration documents and professional literature the paper brings an overview of planning and development of Zagreb in 1945-52. According to the quality of architectural design and the development timeline it is possible to differentiate several city areas and two phases - 1945-46 and 1947-52. The greatest accomplishments of Croatian architecture in those periods were the Federal Yugoslav Government building in Belgrade and the buildings
in the present Grada Vukovara Street.
