Abstract

Significance of the shellfish as food increases, as well as its importance on the market. Intensive production causes health hazards inside shellfish populations. In some cases even consumers health is affected. This paper describes causative agents of shellfish diseases, spreading paths and prevention. Potential hazards for human health are also noted.
