Abstract

Possibility of concentration of demineralized whey and demineralized whey permeate to about 20 % in total solids was studied using reverse. Efficiency of using RO process was estimated according to the data on concentrate composition, changes in flux rate (1/m2 x h) as well as changes in acidity and temperature of filtered fluids during RO. During RO process the temperature and titritahle acidity of filtered fluids increased showing minimum change of pH value. After concentration total solids in fluids up to 15 %, efficiency of RO process decreased, due to significant reduction of flux rate.
