Abstract

Restoring and conserving archaeological objects is a way of achieving the primary goal in the protection of archaeological heritage, which is to prevent their further degradation. By professionally executing conservation and restoration treatments we give the objects back their visual identity, structural stability and physical integrity, while keeping them preserved and protected in the long-term. This paper demonstrates a course of restoration performed on iron objects from the site of Fort Čanjevo. The restoration was carried out in several phases, each one comprising the use of various restoration techniques, methods and procedures. Throughout the restoration works, each phase was recorded and documented in detail.
