Abstract

The bridge across the river Veliki Strug was the most significant reinforced concrete bridge in Croatia before the end of the First World War and one of the greatest construction projects of that kind in Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. The bridge was designed by the Croatian civil engineers Milan čalogović and Fran Funtak. Its design features place it within the late Secession and early Art-deco periods.
