Abstract

This paper gives an analysis of the Building Code for Zagreb from the 1930s including the Law on Building in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Emphasis is placed on the building regulations concerning housing construction. The broad guidelines for urban development were set down in the International Competition for Master Plan of Zagreb whereas the building standards were defined by the Law on Building in 1931 when the period of infrastructural system based on the Austro-Hungarian building regulations ended.
