Abstract

Adolescence is a critical stage in growing up when young people become exposed to numerous risks and when different behavioural disorders become manifest. By the same token, it is the most appropriate stage for the implementation of various strategies of pedagogical prevention. Pedagogical prevention is based on the idea of promoting protective factors and strengthening adolescent personality in order to prevent the outbreak and development of behavioural disorders. The main task of pedagogical prevention of behavioural disorders is to develop adequate social skills and competences as well as positive behaviour patterns that will help young people face and resist numerous pressures they are brought under while growing up. In accordance with the basic goals of pedagogical prevention, the paper suggests certain models and possibilities of preventive action in the context of schools.
