PEDAGOGICAL COMPETENCE OF TEACHERS IN CO-CONSTRUCTING THE TEACHING

Abstract
This paper analyses the term of pedagogical competence of teachers which includes knowledge, skills and personality traits. Pedagogical competence is essential for critical thinking about oneself and one's educational practice. It enables the changes and improvements of the teachers’ behaviours and the shaping of quality in the field of co-construction of the educational process. The paper analyses the qualitative research, conducted on a sample group in one
primary school of the Osijek-Baranja county. By triangulating through content analysis of preparation of twenty-four teachers in
elementary school education, monitoring the implementation of the class and interviewing the teachers, the level of teachers’ pedagogical competence is observed.
In the area of the methodology of construction of the teaching curriculum, 79% of the teachers possess a pedagogical competence and has independently created preparations for the class.
Systematic observation showed that the teachers are also competent in organizing and managing the educational process because they coordinated different didactic methods, teaching aids, social work forms, didactic principles and teaching contents with the aims and tasks of teaching and also coordinated the realization of the aims
and tasks.
