Abstract

In the period following World War II, the home building industry produced a large number of prefabricated systems. Some of them were patented by Jugomont, a Zagreb-based manufacturer. This paper gives a brief survey of the Jugomont systems with special emphasis on the analysis of the ‘Horseshoe’ building in block 28 in New Belgrade. It also anticipates some future directions in the research of prefabricated systems in residential architecture.
