Abstract

Intensive production of potatoes requires a number of different technological operations and the application of modern technology (machinery). This ensures that individual steps (planting, irrigation, fertilization, protection and harvesting-digging up) are performed timely and efficiently. The genetic potential of potato varieties that are used today exceeds the yield of 60 t/ha. The competition in the market is severe. With production costs kept to a minimum (approx. HRK 0.80 per kg), maintaining quality and quantity of production, and ensuring continuous supply throughout the year it is possible to survive in the market.
