Abstract
This trial, involving eighty early weaned piglets, was undertaken with the purpose to estimate the influence of supplementation of 187 ppm Cu to pig rations from various sources (CuSO₄, CuCO₃, and CuO) upon rate of gain and efficiency of feed utilization. Basic scheme of trial is shone on table 1, and composition of feed mixtures used on table 2. On the basis of results obtained in this investigation the following conclusions can be drawn: - supplement of 187 ppm Cu as copper sulfate gave the best result as to daily gain in weight (440 g), but the worst one was obtained in group treated with CuO (345 g): group of pigs treated with CuCO₃, have shone equal results control one (428 g and 426 g, respectively), - the highest feed conversion was obtained by use of CuCO₃, and the lowest with application of CuO, - owing to supplementation of copper sulfate and copper carbonate gave the same results as supplement of Galofak SP-125 in control group,we could conclude that application of copper salts was more economical than addition of 0,2 per cent Galofak.
