Abstract

Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium L.) is a perennial plant and it has been used as a medicinal plant more than 3000 years. In our country it grows in a spontaneous populations, but as a spontaneous or cultivated plant it is distributed througout Europe, Asia and Northen America.
The paper reviews the most important biological characteristics of
wormwood, its chemical caracteristics as well as cultivation methods.
