THE WAVELETS IN PICTURE CODING

Abstract

The wavelets have their application in picture coding. There is a discusion on wavelets in general followed by description of a local cosine transform (LCT) algorithm of Coifman and Meyer. We lay emphasis on graphic layout of wavelets used.
