Abstract

In Sous le pont Mirabeau, Madeleine Bourdouxhe tells the story of a woman who emigrates to France with the little girl she has just given birth to, following the invasion of Belgium by the Germans. The analytical reading proposed here will demonstrate how this story, which combines in the tale of the protagonist the exceptionality of the war and the daily reality of civilians, is bound up with the poem “Sous le pont Mirabeau” of Guillaume Apollinaire in terms of topics and to shos the depth of exchanges and intertextual relationship between the poem and the prose narrative.
