Abstract

Poetic distinction of the folk tale is of theoretical matter around which
multilayered and multiple classification proposals evolve. Literature theory of Croatian oral literature offered more views on folk tale distinction through the influence of fiction and of motive substrate. This work initially presents different views of theorists about their perceptions of the mythical and demonological folk tales. The second part of the paper gives the theoretical observations which are determined in relation to the fairy tale. In addition, the share of fiction and the share mythical language as relevant gudelines in mythical and demonological folktales have been examined.
