Abstract

The article inquires into the presence of common stylistic characteristics between "Freising Manuscripts" (1st and 3rd are liturgical texts of common confession, 2nd , called "Adhortatio ad poenitentiam" is sermon before confession) and the Croatian medieval literary form – the contrast. The main preocupation of all three manuscripts, just like in glagolitic contrasts, is how to
present the idea of the cosmic duel between Good and Evil. The Medieval writer had no other possibility except to show it in the language of his work, in this case in the dialogical structures and meaningful use of verbal forms (perfect and imperfect past tenses).
