FROM BATTORYCH TO TIVADAR BLAGAYCHICH: PRO-HUNGARIAN TYPES FROM THE GALLERY OF CHARACTERS IN GJALSKI'S WORKS

Abstract

Pro-Hungarian characters have a special place amongst the characters of Gjalsi's novels and short stories. Amongst them one finds supporters of Strossmayer'sideas, in addition to those who propagate the old constitutional alliance with Hungary but also supporters of Werboczy's rights. Gjalski characterizes them in a realistic manner and at certain points by way of satiric means of characterization.
