Abstract

We have based the developing of our strategies for building quality in kindergarten practice on perceiving quality as a dynamic, socially and culturally conditioned, contextualized, and multidimensional, with multiple perspectives and a value-shaped concept. This work starts off with analyzing two approaches to practice - evidence based practice and reflective practice and we’ve elaborated on three characteristics of reflexive practice: building shared knowledge and values, collaboration and shared leadership and practitioner research. Through reflexive practice, kindergarten culture is transformed in key dimensions of practice context: the organizational structure; space; peer community; the relationship with families and the local community and joint participation. The strategy from transforming kindergarten culture is concretized through guidelines for transforming each of the above-mentioned dimensions.
