Abstract

The proposed study is based on a three-volume anthology RECvisits: an Anthology of Writers' Voices (2015, 2017) edited by Tatiana Teren, which contains thirty conversations with contemporary Ukrainian writers. Belonging to different literary generations, they are united by common post-totalitarian, post-colonial and post-traumatic challenges, including the post-communist "trauma of victory" as an unpredictable and radical social change. Through the articulation of their textual and personal experience writers identify themselves as belonging to the literary community – discursive, intellectual, thought, and interpretive. Combining different points of view and evaluation, this project demonstrates a contemporary discussion of the very nature of literature, which concerns not only the textual but also the social dimension.
