OVERVIEW OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY USAGE IN FRONT-OF-HOUSE PROCESSES

Abstract
In today's world of digitization and the rapid development of information and communication technologies, the hospitality industry keeps up with the new trends in computerization and digitization. The widespread adoption of digital technologies in recent years has fundamentally reshaped the way hospitality services are delivered and received. This paper explores modern technologies used in the hospitality industry, as well as the way in which guest experiences are improved and the hospitality service platform is changing. Improvements that can be implemented in the hospitality industry and facilities in the segment of interaction with users are listed in order to restructure the service platform and fit it into a modern environment. Personalization of experiences and digitization of services have been identified as two fronts on which these improvements must be focused. Several new services that catering establishments could offer, from body sensors and service robots to augmented reality, are foreseen, which will certainly have their more massive application in catering establishments in the near future.
