Analysis of acceleration of business processes by implementing an application for annual leaves on an example from healthcare

Abstract
Operations management plays a role in both manufacturing and service companies because each organization performs specific operations. Regardless of whether they are employed in manufacturing or services, the operations manager needs to know the principles of change management. In a globally interconnected world, the business of all sectors and industries is affected by digital transformation as the greatest change of our time. A case study analyses the introduction of an application for annual leaves at the Sestre milosrdnice University Hospital Center in Zagreb. The aim of this paper was to indicate the connection between accelerating business processes and increasing business efficiency through the practical application of the principles of operations management and organizational change management. In the end, it can be said that the hypothesis that organizational processes can be successfully redesigned and accelerated by applying the principles of operations management and change management has been confirmed.
