Abstract
In the epidemiologically adapted learning and teaching environment, teachers and students were limited in conducting group work and hands-on activities, which was an incentive to create materials for current generations in the biology learning vertical. The materials can be used for teaching and learning in exceptional circumstances, as well as in other situations when hands-on work, observations, measurements, and research cannot be conducted in the classroom or during field instruction. To this end, materials have been prepared on the MoD system's BUBO platform (SRCE) and online materials (Merlin SRCE) have been created for teaching-oriented biology students to support learning of biology and preparation for school work. The ASIO model, based on video materials that include observation and research simulations, has proven to be a good tool for teaching biological concepts in the form of online and contact instruction when students do not have the opportunity to conduct research, observation, and discovery activities, but also in use as a stimulus to discuss research results. The idea of flexible teaching was applied, based on the use of the materials created and their adaptation to the form of implementation (contact, hybrid or online teaching) supported by materials created for students with different learning profiles. In preparing the tasks, care was taken to support experiential learning, discovery learning, and inquiry learning with metacognitive scaffolding; to promote learning according to different interests, achievement levels, and dominant personalities; and to support students with developmental difficulties and gifted students. The concept of teaching with materials from BUBO (IN-KO) is based on individual contributions to collaborative learning. Not all students have to solve the same tasks. It assumes good learning support based on the tasks created, where each student or pair/group is involved in the collaborative learning of the whole class with a presentation and conclusions of their completed tasks. Applied learning technique online discussion based on the evaluation of other students' work according to the criteria offered and the application of cooperative learning in the expansion of knowledge through the learning experience of other students. Materials for teaching and learning on the platform BUBO as well as video materials on the YouTube channel BUBO, the idea of ASIO model, flexible teaching and IN-KO teaching continue to be used in improving and upgrading existing materials and preparing new materials for teaching and learning in vertical biology classes.
