Abstract

The aim of this case study is to determine whether the costs of implementing and certififying the horticultural production of PG Težak Mladen are justified by the total revenue from the sale of ornamental and horticultural plants through the supermarket distribution chain that the by GLOBAL G.A.P. certificate requires from its suppliers. Based on a comparative analysis in the period 2017-2022. In 2010, it was found that the sale of flowers to customers who require certified goods has improved significantly compared to the period before 2020, when PG did not yet have a certificate. It can also be concluded that it is not necessary to invest in such a system if the customer does not require it, as this causes unnecessary costs. If the customer requires a certificate, the profitability should be carefully calculated for option 1 (individual certification), which PG Težak had in 2020 and 2021 or for option 2 (group certification) with which the same economy will continue in 2022.
