Abstract

Building on the work of John Howard Yoder and his delineation of galut as a normative ecclesiological descriptor, a number of contemporary theologians have sought to approach this theme from a distinct understanding of the Christian apocalyptic. In this article, I want to briefly examine the main parameters of these discussions in order to explore ways in which they might inform and be informed by the distinct theopolitical vision of Adventist remnant theology. In particular, I want to address the pressing issue of differentiation/exclusion that emerges in this connection through a theological engagement with the exilic discourse of 1 Peter.
