Abstract

The paper examines a rare late 14 th / early 15 th century cuisse recovered from the Sava River near Sisak, Croatia, in 1911. Using comparative methodology and typological analysis, supported by historical contextualization, the study proposes a revised date and determination of the object. Particular attention is given to its morphology and decorative elements. Comparisons with extant examples and contemporary depictions in art are used to place the armour within its context of production and use, while also contributing to the assessment of its authenticity.
