Abstract

The paper focuses on Šimić’s two poems sharing the title Return, their analysis, and the process of their composition. In this regard, Return (II) is illuminated from its initial inspiration through various transformations to its final form, based on Šimić’s fragments and concepts that remained unpublished during his lifetime. Since Return (I) bears formal similarities to Rima XVI from Bécquer’s Rimas, particularly in terms of its communicative pattern, the paper also examines the potential interferences.
