Analysis of the Development of World and Croatian Cruising

Abstract

Cruising as one of three basic types of nautical tourism has been developed into one of the leading world corporative business. As a result of the constant development of the demand in the world market, demand for cruising, great cruising corporations have been developed. Their development has been accompanied by smaller specialized fleets of cruisers. The objects of cruising are cruisers and ports for cruiser reception. Their connection and interdependence is specific. The ports for cruisers acceptance have the character of non-movable objects, while cruisers are movable objects. Just that fact has conditioned essential difference in the management which has been evidenced in the differences in seasonality of the management of ports and cruisers. What are the characters of the seasonality of cruising? How do we validate the development of world cruising? How modern Croatian domestic market is being developed? What changes on the coast of the Adriatic should be expected? How to profile the development of cruising on macro level? The paper will try to answer to the above mentioned answers by means of analysis and the assessment of expected results.
