Abstract

In this paper are presented some basic changes of paradigms in social work, and the effects of these changes on social work practice. The basic terms the author defines in this context are reflective practice, the role of mediator the social worker plays in relation to the beneficiary and the idea of reinforcement. The author thus emphasises the importance of coordinating the education of future experts with everyday needs. Field instruction is therefore becoming ever more demanding, while the role of the field instructor more complex. Such changes require that the professional community recognises the importance of field instruction, establishes a system of specialisation of practitioners for performing this role, and introduces certain forms of support and stimulation for field instructors.
