Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the
relationship between motor abilities and anthropometric
characteristics, and dance performance. By determining
these relationships one could predict dance performance.
A total of 113 female kinesiology students were examined
using 15 tests aimed to measure motor abilities and 4 tests
aimed to measure anthropometric characteristics. Dance
performance was evaluated by three independent experts.
Regression analysis revealed significant correlations
between independent and 4 dependent variables (D1, D3,
D4 and D5), while no correlations were observed between
D2 dependent variable and the set of independent
variables. The relationship between dance performance
and motor abilities is defined by the variables (1) side
steps with 360o turn (MAGKUS360), and (2) standing
high jump (MFESVM). The relationships between dance
performance and anthropometric characteristics is
defined by the variables (1) body mass (MT), and total fat
mass (KG/MASTI).
