Abstract
Chemical composition of milk is one of the parameters used in the system of milk payment, but it can also be used as a basic data for dairy cows nutrition management. The amount and chemical composition of milk was investigated during springtime in 2005. on five dairy farms near Križevci (protein content, milk fat content, urea). The data were compared with the data diet analysis. According to chemical composition, the dairy farms produced first class milk, but nutrition of the dairy cows was not in balance with milk production intensity on all five farms. The diet, once established, was the basis for nutrition during the whole lactation period. A lack of energy and protein in diet was determined on dairy farm Piškori
