Abstract

The topic of this paper is review of the international compensation regime established by the 1992 Civil Liability Convention and the 1992 Fund Convention.
The author discusses in particular the adoption of amendments of the limits of compensation in the 1992 Civil Liability Convention and 1992 Fund Convention and proposed third-tier compensation scheme.
She also points out that it would be premature and unnecessary for the 1992 Fund to extend the definition of pollution damage beyond reasonable reinstatement measures.
