Abstract

The paper presents advantages of a single lighting plan for an entire city illustrated with Lyon, France, as one of rare examples of towns whose lighting was entirely pre-planned. It also brings the implementation of the so called ecological lighting upon the installation of new lighting systems. It also shows similar approaches to illuminating Croatian cities, such as Zagreb, Dubrovnik and several other towns (creation of lighting feasibility study) and problems of their adoption.
