SCHOOL LIBRARY AND THE NATIONAL CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK

Abstract
The article discusses the agenda of school librarians as a possible part of the national curriculum framework of general compulsory education in elementary and secondary schools.
School libraries could be directly involved in the school curriculum through the module library and information education, and indirectly as part of inter-subject connectivity. A library programme and information education is achieved through three areas: reading, information literacy, and cultural and public activities.
