Abstract

Regionalization of fruit production in Republic of Croatia is a spatial representation of natural conditions as a basic prerequisite for assessing the status and opportunities for growing fruit trees, taking into account the soil and climate peculiarities. Based on existing documentation and field observations, regionalization of fruit production in the Republic of Croatia was conducted. Production area of Croatia, taking into account environmental constraints and specific requirements of certain fruit kinds, is divided into five regions, namely: East- Pannonian, West- Pannonian, Mountain, Northern
Adriatic and Dalmatian region. The results of regionalization are presented in the text, tables and graphs (maps in scale 1:300.000). Regionalization has included 15 kinds of fruit, and citrus fruit (mandarin orange, lemon, etc.). The results are presented in the
text, tables and graphs, which allows reliable information necessary in planning the future development of horticulture, particularly regarding to possibility of creating a clear and correct conception of the agricultural policy in Croatian Republic.
