MemorabiLika: SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL FOR LIKA AND GENERAL NATIVENESS (HISTORY, ARCHAEOLOGY, GEOGRAPHY, LANGUAGE, LITERATURE, CUSTOMS, LANDSCAPE, SOCIETY, AND ARCHIVAL MATERIAL)

Enveloping historical areas like Lika, Krbava, Gacka, and Velebit and extending to the coast, the Lika region has been a crucial crossroads for trade routes since prehistoric times. A melting pot for diverse religions and civilizations and intermingling cultures and languages, Lika has unfortunately also been a frequent battleground throughout history. The region still needs to overcome the challenges of population decline and a gap in scientific appreciation. To address that and to stimulate research interest in the region's future development, the State Archives in Gospić and the University of Zadar have joined forces to launch MemorabiLika, a scientific journal. Published annually in print and electronic form, MemorabiLika focuses on history, culture (language, literature, customs and traditions, landscapes, and archival materials), and geography of the Lika region alongside general themes relevant to the local area. MemorabiLika welcomes submissions in various forms, including scientific papers, archival materials, finding aids, scientific literature reviews, scientific conference proceedings, and any contributions that shed light on Lika's unique local history, geography, and culture.
