The Journal of the Polytechnic of Rijeka is a peer-reviewed, international, multidisciplinary, open-access journal open for collaboration with scientists and experts in the field of natural, biotechnical, technical and social sciences. The Journal aims to promote and enhance research in all fields of economics, information and communication technologies, computing, traffic and transport technology, agronomy and applied mathematics. It strives to take a prominent role in providing an information base for improvement of theory and practice in these fields. The Journal of the Polytechnic of Rijeka primarily aims to publish scientific papers (original scientific papers, preliminary communications and reviews). However, professional papers which content can arouse the interest of a scientific and professional public will also be published. The general criteria for the acceptance of articles are: contribution to the scientific and professional knowledge, clearly defined research methodology, relevant literature review and overall quality of the article. All articles submitted for publication are reviewed by two anonymous and independent reviewers and the names of the authors are also unknown to the reviewers (double-blind review). The editors reserve the right to reject articles that do not meet the basic criteria of the journal and to return improperly formatted manuscripts to the authors, without peer review. Editors of The Journal are strongly against any type of scientific misconduct, such as: fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, redundant publication and authorship problems. In order to maintain the highest level of publishing ethical standards, the Editorial Board of the Journal of the Polytechnic of Rijeka follows the recommendations of the COPE - Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers (https://publicationethics.org/). The Journal strongly advocates ethics in publishing and the quality of articles. Standards of ethical behavior are respected by authors, editors, and reviewers. All submitted manuscripts are checked using Crossref Similarity Check (iThenticate). The Journal of the Polytechnic of Rijeka is an open-access journal available through the Portal of scientific journals of Croatia – Hrčak - platform for Croatian Open Access journals and the journal website. The Journal publishes articles in Croatian or English. The Journal is indexed by the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) - Web of Science Core Collection (Clarivate Analytics - ex Thomson Reuters) and ERIH PLUS (European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences) and it is included in the Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers (the Nordic List). The Journal's Open Access policy is included in Sherpa Romeo.

  • Rights: The usage of full-text of the articles can be used exclusively for personal, research-related or educational purposes, with regard to the authors' and publishers' rights. The rights to use the papers are defined by the Creative Commons CC BY-NC 4.0. licence. The users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print and transform or use them for any other lawful purpose as long as they attribute the source in an appropriate manner and for the non-commercial purpose of the usage. Journal does not charge article processing charge. The papers published in The Journal of the Polytechnic of Rijeka can be deposited and self-archived in the institutional and thematic repositories providing the link to the Journal's web pages or HRČAK. According to self-archiving policy it is allowed to archive post-print (final draft post-refereeing), publisher's version of the paper.
