Phytoecological research in the urban environment in Italy

Sažetak

The main characteristics of the Italian urban flora are discussed and its use as a synthetic indicator of environmental conditions is illustrated. The study of urban allergophytes enables a correlation to be made between their phenanthesic period and signs of allergy in a town's inhabitants. Also discussed is a method of evaluating the quality of urban environment by ecological analysis of the flora and vegetation.
