Sažetak

The planing of a partial prosthesis with bilaterally extended saddles requires the application of the principle of balance between the forces of retention and load and the reaction which these forces will cause in the supporting teeth and tissues of the base. In order to prevent harmful effects, the retention and load of the prolonged saddle are planned and finished according to the principle of the distant prop. Mechanically this corresponds with the principle of a one-forked bar.
