Abstract

Motivation of employees is one of the key factors in successful management of healthcare system. In this time of crisis, when the strain on healthcare system reaches its peak, the question of how to motivate healthcare professionals is often raised. The process of motivation is a complex job, and satisfied employees are the precondition for achieving the designated goal. There is no strictly defined formula for measuring a person’s motivation. We all possess the inner strength that puts us in motion, but we differ regarding our ambitions and skills. It is important to recognize the talent of each individual and encourage them to act. Therefore, the role of manager is crucial in the motivation process. Due to technological progress, the needs of employees differ and change over time. It is therefore necessary to use different motivation techniques. Self-confidence of employees increases with the feeling of belonging and involvement in the planning process. By respecting abilities of each individual and by promoting, praising, and rewarding their effort, the quality of healthcare will not be lacking.
