Sažetak

As there are numerous formulations of milk substitutes, there are numerous ways of feeding calves with milk replacers too. Therefore, the aim of the research was to determine the influence of different ways of calf milk‐replacer feeding on the production indicators. The research was conducted on 29 Simmental calves divided into two groups, the control (K) and experimental (P) one, for 59 days. The experimental group was fed with two milk replacers of different nutrient and energy levels if compared to the control group, which was fed with a single milk replacer all the time. Both groups were offered water, hay, and pelleted mixture ad libitum. The individual weighings were carried out on the 1st, 30th, and on the 59th day of the study. The following indicators were monitored: body mass, average daily growth, and the consumption of the milk replacer. The obtained values of milk replacer consumption demonstrated a statistically significant difference p < 0.05 in favor of the control group. Despite a higher consumption of milk replacer, there were no significant differences in the body weight and in the average daily gain. At the end of the research, the conclusion was derived that the differences in the proportions of milk‐replacer nutrients and energy did not significantly affect the production indicators.
