Toward the biografy of a teacher Mate Sudeta (1896 - 1988)

Sažetak
Mato Sudeta, a brother of a poet Đuro Sudeta, was born in Stara Ploščica near Bjelovar in 1896, and died in Zagreb in 1988. His life is an example how hard it is to live in four different systems and what were the problems that teachers had to face, especially those who were more capable and versatile. Mato Sudeta was a poet, writer, researcher of history of education of Koprivnica and its surroundings, and head of the branch of the Association of Croatian Teachers in Koprivnica, to finish his carrier as an administrator in a construction company after an attempt to become a neutralizer of the above pressures to teachers in Croatia. Although this study does not give a complete biography of Mato Sudeta it is a mirror of one difficult period of time and at the same time indicator that dignity could have been saved only with honest work and good relationships among colleagues.
