Sažetak

Cross-cultural teams are an increasingly important form of work organization in the international business environment, but their effectiveness does not stem solely from the cultural diversity of their members. Successful collaboration particularly depends on the ability to understand cultural differences as well as openness and sensitivity to intercultural interactions. The aim of this paper is to examine the relationship between cultural intelligence, intercultural sensitivity and cross-cultural team effectiveness. The empirical research was conducted on a sample of 48 respondents with experience in cross-cultural teams. The main constructs were measured using standardized instruments: the Cultural Intelligence Scale (CQS), the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale (ISS) and the Team Effectiveness Questionnaire (TEQ). The data were analysed using descriptive statistics, Cronbach’s alpha, Pearson correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results show statistically significant positive relationships between cultural intelligence, intercultural sensitivity and cross-cultural team effectiveness. Regression analysis indicates a statistically significant individual contribution of intercultural sensitivity to explaining perceived team effectiveness, whereas cultural intelligence does not show a statistically significant contribution in the joint model. However, the very strong relationship between cultural intelligence and intercultural sensitivity and the identified multicollinearity require caution when interpreting the individual regression coefficients. The findings highlight the need for further research into the relationship between these constructs using larger samples.
