Sažetak
Manager’s career success is not important just for individuals but for the whole organization since individual career success influences organizational success. Risk taking propensity is very important for managerial profession since very often managerial career depend on the way manager deals with risky situation. In this work, the relationship between those two variables is examined. The sample consists of Croatian managers in hospitality industry. One way analysis of variance is used in order to examine the relationship
between risk taking propensity and career success. Three measures of managerial career success are used in this work: objective career success, subjective career success and career success (the combination of objective and subjective career success). The results
suggest that more successful managers are greater risk takers comparing to less successful managers, when success is measured by determinants of objective success and by combination of objective and subjective career success’ determinants. More successful managers are greater risk takers comparing to less successful when success is measured subjectively, but that difference is not statistically significant.
