Sažetak
After several months of online classes, we wanted to get feedback on what is the student`s experience in monitoring the teaching of STEM group of subjects (biology, physics, chemistry and mathematics). These subjects were chosen because of their specificity because, in addition to lectures, they also contain experiments, exercises, solving problem, and numerical tasks. The aim of the research was to determine satisfaction with the current implementation of online teaching, to correct our attitudes and teaching methods and, if necessary, to change and improve teaching in accordance with the opinions and suggestions of students. In order to get feedback, we conducted an online survey at the Josip Slavenski High School in Čakovec via the Microsoft Forms questionnaire. Topics covered by the questionnaire were satisfaction with online teaching, personal attitude / experience of online teaching, performance of online teaching, online written tests and digital tools in online teaching. Considering the results of the survey, we found that most students are satisfied or extremely satisfied with the current way of conducting online classes in the STEM group of subjects, and that is the conduct of classes in real time via Zoom. However, students note that online teaching is more difficult to follow, that online tests do not show students' real knowledge, and list a number of other problems they have encountered. They also highlight the good sides of online teaching such as mastering digital tools that they will use later in their education and work. Despite the overall positive comments from students, teachers in the STEM area still have room for improvement, listening to students ’needs, which can be helped by the results of this survey, especially carefully reading student comments where we can find some of our shortcomings, become aware and try to be better. To this end, we have highlighted some suggestions and tips so that professors can improve their online teaching.
