Sažetak

Trying to leave the rendered subject-hour system and the division between levels of education, students of 5th and 7th grade of Ivo Andrić Elementary School and 4th grade students of the IX. high school together studied the problem of obesity and malnutrition. Elementary school students studied the origin of food items and their caloric value and solved tasks within the topics Energy effects of nutrition of living beings and Nutrition and health in the teaching of Science and Biology. High school students studied available data from the FAO, WHO and CNIPH on hunger, malnutrition and obesity at different spatial levels as part of Geography teaching. With such activities, interdisciplinarity in teaching and the outcomes of cross-curricular topics Health, Personal and Social Development and Entrepreneurship are realized, so their value in learning and teaching is exceptional. At the end of the activity, the students presented the results of their work to each other in a videoconference. Due to the connection between the content of different subjects and the level of education, the activity pointed out the value of such teaching opportunities for teachers. Students who learned in this way showed a better understanding of the concept of the Energy effects of nutrition of living beings and Nutrition and Health.
